Don't Delay, Contribute Today

That's exactly the type of glib, rhyming catchphrase I'd like to avoid as we collect money for the Bring Bruce Bayside Fund. An idea as good as bringing Bruce Gillespie to Corflu and Potlatch in late February-early March 2005 doesn't need Mundane sloganeering to reach its goal.

Fortunately, a lot of you agree and have contributed. There is still plenty of need, though, so it's time to pony up. Whether you can afford to become a One Percenter or can only spare a few bucks, send it now and we'll give your money a nice, new home.

Welcome Aboard!

Alan Rosenthal, the most famous "AR" since Arnold Rothstein, has joined the team running the BBB Fund. He'll be the liaison between the BBB Fund and Corflu, Potlatch and other conventions we hope will help and support the Fund.

Like his "initials-sake," our AR will be on hand to fix anything that isn't going to turn out the right way.

Joyce Katz Gets The Chair

Recuperation at the home of Ken and Aileen Forman (and with the assistance of Ben and Cathi Wilson) continues. Joyce is getting used to moving between the bed and her wheelchair and the open layout of the Forman's Yucaipa, CA home makes it fairly easy for her to move from room to room (with some timely pushes).

Although she won't be much more mobile for some weeks, Joyce has regained Internet access and, as you can see from this issue, she is updating the Fund's financial status.

The One Percenters

A One Percenter is a supporter of the BBB Fund who helps prove that fans are special, one-in-a-hundred people by contri-buting one percent of the total of $2,500, minimum, needed to Bring Bruce Bayside.

We'll send Jason Burnett's nifty "One Percenter" symbol to any such benefactors that wish to display it on their fanzines and websites.

As of today, the One Percenters are: Robert Lichtman; Earl Kemp; Arnie Katz; Joyce Katz; Art Widner; Randy Byers; Curt Phillips; Janice Gelb; Hope Liebowitz; Rich Coad; Bruce Townley; Jack Calvert; Thomas Bull; Eric Lindsay & Jean Weber; Smyth-McMullen Family; David Russell; Peter & Mariann McNamara; Irwin Hirsh.

To follow their example, send at least $25 to Joyce (330 S. Decatur Blvd., PMB 152, Las Vegas, NV 89107) for the BBB Fund.

The Wright Stuff. Wounded in Action

Bill Wright, the Australian BBB Fund Administrator, followed the lead of co-chairman Joyce Katz a little too closely. Fortunately, the consequences don't appear to be as severe:
I had another fall myself, at Conflux. I boogied at the masquerade on Sunday night, April 25th, 2004, from 8:00 to 11:00 PM when I tripped over an irregularly-shaped stage that was inconveniently located near the band. Fortunately, it was a double-tiered stage, so I fell head first (therefore safely) on top and then, by successive maneuvers that I am told were wonderful to behold, to the floor. Somewhat shaken, I sashayed off to bed, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It seems I was the only one who was NOT disguised on the last day of the con.

My roommate Robin Johnson says he has an incriminating photo of my antics prior to the fall. He muttered something about my needing to "swing it, not throw it" before abruptly falling asleep about 3:00 in the morning." - Bill Wright.

How to Send the Money:

We'll take your money in just about any form, but some ways are easier.

Contributions from outside the USA should be sent in American funds, if possible. Otherwise, we'll incur some fees - but we'll happily accept what is left!

Make checks payable to: Joyce M. Katz (PMB 152, 330 S. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89107, USA).

We also accept cash, but senders beware. We'll soon be set up to accept PayPal payments over the Internet. This is the best possible way to contribute, since the payment can be in American funds, you don't have to write a check, and you don't need to address and stamp an envelope.

If you have a PayPal account and you wish to use this convenience, wait until I send the proper information in the next newsletter. If you drop me an email when you send your contribution, I'll send you an acknowledgment.

The Gillespie Anthology

The volume is taken shape under the direction of Irwin Hirsh. We'll have the contents list for you soon, but for now what we can tell you is that the title will be The Incompleat Bruce Gillespie.
